Documentation validation contracts — 2026-10-25

This independent WS8 source-only slice addresses GOV-009 and OPR-015 while the recovery workstream waits for a normal scheduled check. No new runtime observation, forced run, deployment or publication acceptance is claimed.

The validation runbook and the earlier audit now state the unchanged checker boundary: rendered links in site Markdown, the exact current GitHub namespace and main-ref blob/tree forms, and target-path existence in the local checked-out tree. That is not an HTTP, remote-main, historical-ref or private README-body link check. GitHub fragments are not validated by this pass. Unrecognized forms are outside coverage, not validated links or evidence of an HTTP failure.

Behavioral fixtures cover supported and excluded URLs, fenced examples, local branch files without Git metadata, ignored fragments and private-body exclusions. The old unqualified documentation fails the new declaration regression; the corrected declaration passes. Historical links, the dated audit test/page counts, and the checker implementation remain unchanged.

Generator guidance synchronized with CI and hooks

The canonical inventory generator matrix now maps all twelve generators to their source inputs, outputs and validation coverage. Three agent rules link to it instead of repeating the incomplete seven-generator list.

The matrix distinguishes eleven explicit CI checks, the additional hook-only remediation-target check, path-filtered hooks and the runner-fleet hook that regenerates three outputs without staging them. Relevant-input regeneration is not the same as blindly rewriting every generated file. Synthetic/current-tree contract tests fail when the roster, documented commands, hook filters or modes drift. Field-level dependency prose still requires source review.

All twelve existing local --check commands passed, with generated output hashes and Git status unchanged. No live discovery scan, baseline rewrite, actual hook regeneration or deployment ran. Generator code, workflow and hook behavior were not changed.

Tracking and validation boundary

Both concerns advance to implemented, not closed or live-publication accepted: 2 deployed, 6 implemented, 245 backlog; none closed. Current-source and synthetic regression passed, with independent implementation/documentation review. Exact-head CI and final documentation validation are recorded on the PR. The private registry linked from the repository README retains per-finding evidence, old/new proofs, hashes and residual risks; the original audit baseline is unchanged.

This does not validate every historical link, every possible generator dependency, arbitrary prose accuracy or the other agent-rule instructions. Rexit exercise, monitoring activation and recovery acceptance remain separate pending gates.
