HomeKit hubs unreachable again (2026-10-22)

TL;DR

Kitchen HomePod and Bedroom Apple TV dropped off the iPhone again. Live check from CaptainKangapoo: ZBF Allow Personal → IoT was already ALLOW with return policies; hubs online on IoT; Personal host can ping and open AirPlay TCP 7000/7100. The iPhone was on GenPop (192.168.1.46, SSID LAN Before Time) — there is no GenPop → IoT allow. Join KrustyKrab (Personal).

Phase status

Area Status
Phase 7R AirPlay policy Healthy (dry-run OK 2026-10-22)
Phone VLAN Root cause — GenPop instead of Personal

What shipped

  • Runbook: homekit-unreachable.md — Check 0 = wrong SSID/VLAN before ZBF
  • Cross-links from Phase 7R AirPlay section

Known gaps / drift

  • Apple TV client still has stale fixed_ip: 192.168.1.109 + use_fixedip: true while live on IoT 192.168.7.106 — hygiene only; not this outage.
  • Do not add GenPop → IoT allow; move the phone to Personal instead.

What remains

  1. Owner: iPhone → IsThisTheKrustyKrab; confirm Home + AirPlay.
  2. Optional: clear Apple TV GenPop fixed IP / set IoT .106 fixed IP.
  3. Mark Owner TODO 2026-10-22 done after verify.
